Vintage English dessert service set in the Copeland Spode's Jewel pattern consisting of a double handled cake tray and 12 matching plates. The pieces feature a lace pattern rim with the cake platter adorned with a pink rose spray in the center.

Tradition is that this pattern was originally designed by W.H. Goss, art director for the company and was presented to Queen Victoria. The original version, to which these plates belong, is known as Spode's Jewel and bears English registration #70392 and a U.S. patent dated June 15th, 1926. The later version includes this set's tray, marked Billingley Rose, was introduced in 1930, so this set is believed to to have been fabricated between 1926 and 1930.

Dimensions: cake tray, 11.25"W x 9.5"D; plates, 6.2" Dia.

Very good vintage condition with no cracks, no chips, minor fabrication flaws on the backside of 2 plates (not visible when in use); cake tray and 11 plates are excellent, 1 plate with staining as shown.
