Handsome set of dining chairs in the Gothic Revival / Jacobean styles comprised of 1 host armchair and 5 armless guest chairs. Fabricated of walnut with carved and turned legs, square stretchers, and pierced splats with highly decorative crest rail. Professionally upholstered with fixed boxed cushions in cream fabric with small blue print and matching blue cording. Fabric exhibiting some fabric stains that we leave to the buyer to treat. Label en verso of Midwest Furniture and Chair of St. Joseph, MO, and stamped "Chair for 1539 Suite". The company incorporated in 1920, perished in the Depression, and was formally dissolved in 1935. We believe the date of manufacture to be in the 1920s.

Dimensions: overall, 23.5"W x 23.5"D x 39"H; seats (both host & guest chairs), 18.5"W x 18.5"D x 19"H; arms, 23"W x 27.5"H.

Good condition; structurally sound, surface wear appropriate to age and use, crack and loss of veneer on one splat and stretcher surface damage (both shown).
