Lovely early late 1800s / early 1900's Edwardian era English glass match strike / vesta. Used as advertising in pubs and restaurants, these antique pieces feature a center well to hold wood matchsticks and exterior surfaces of smooth clear glass alternating with frosted, ribbed bands where the matches were lighted. Circling the upper edge of the first is the pink-hued trademark of Bryant & May's Wax Vestas, one of the largest match manufacturers in England. The logo suggests fabrication between the company's founding in 1843 and its merger / name change in 1927. Please note: reflections in the photos should not be mistaken for more significant wear.

Dimensions:  2.75ʺDia. × 2.75ʺH

Very good antique condition with excellent glass surfaces, no chips, no scratches; lettering paint loss.
