19th C. French Military Motif Boxes, Set of 4
19th C. French Military Motif Boxes, Set of 4
Antique tapioca boxes from the late 19th century discovered at a market in southwest France. This charming boxes are unused stock from an abandoned cereal factory. Each is wrapped in glossy paper overlaid with a chromolithographic image on the front, product information label on the back, and a paper seal on the top which pulls back to reveal a hole into which the tapioca would have poured. While lovely to put on display by themselves, we think they make darling flower vases and include a florist tube with each box (see photos).
Dimensions: 2.5ʺW × 1.25ʺD × 3.75ʺH.
PLEASE NOTE: This listing has the theme of "military". We also are offering sets with other images (equestrian, trains, couples) in separate Chez Vous Antques listings on Chairish.
