Calif-Asia, was founded by Bessie Abbott Ochs, a California native and the granddaughter of a China trader. After studying music in Boston in the 1910s, Bessie embarked on a singing tour of southeast Asia where she met and married Otto Henry (“Harry”) Ochs in 1920. Together they created Calif-Asia , a leading fabricator and importer of rattan furniture.. So well known and successful, they were commissioned to provide 6000 rattan chairs for the 1932 LA Olympics, including the chair for President Herbert Hoover at the event. The company dissolved in 1969.

Dimensions: overall, 16"W x 26"D x 31.5"H; seat, 16"W x 17.5"D x 16.75"H.

Very good vintage condition; structurally sound, no breaks in bamboo or cane; surface wear. Fabric on seats faded and stained.
