This lovely redware pottery match strike is designed in the late 19thC "Torquay" Devon style but comes from Sherfield on Loddon, a very different area of the U.K. This souvenir piece commemorates a holiday in the village with the inscription of "Sherfield-on-Lodden" ringing around the base above the motto "Let all things have there places". No maker's marks.
