Lovely Art Deco inspired antique letter opener from the village of Jezzine, Lebanon. This piece features a bird-form bone handle, the bone body and brass wings inlaid with criss-cross silver bars and unidentified color stones. The ferrule and blade are brass. No maker's marks but based on the intricate design and high quality, believed to be the work of the well known Haddad family who began crafting flatware in 1770. This piece dates to as early as 1930 when the Phoenix / Firebird motif was introduced.

Very good near-antique condition with no missing inlays and some surface wear.
