Lovely handpainted cherry blossom tea cups in the traditional, no handle style known as Yunomi. These pieces are of creamy white porcelain, hand decorated in shades of pink, rose, green, and charcoal with a striking black edge along the rim, and finished in a raku glaze featuring the typical delicate craquelure detail. Beautiful examples of understated elegance. Mark en verso "Made in Japan" suggests fabrication between 1921 and 1947 or after 1952. No maker's marks.

Very good vintage condition with no chips, no cracks; intentional crazing of traditional raku glazing; paint & glaze irregulariities of an artisan made piece.
