This lovely vintage print of a Protea blossom, the national flower of South Africa. Professionally framed with mat and glazing in a gold wood frame.
The Protea (proteaceae) is amongst the earliest of flowering plants on earth, believed to millions of years old and predating our present continent arrangement. Catalogued by famed botanist, Carl Linneaus, in 1735, it is named after Proteus, the son of Poseidon in Greek mythology.
